Quis Custodiet Ipsos Custodes (Who Wacthes the Watchmen) is a lament for tuba quartet written for Peter Jackson's 4th year chamber recital at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. The composition begins quite still and delicate, which gradually builds to a grand climax towards the end. During this, the euphoniums share soaring melodic lines with relaxed accompaniment from the tubas. The performance is best when at a slower tempo and in a large reflective acoustic.
